In late 2024, SonoVoice formalized a collaboration with New York University and secured $75,000 in funding from NYU’s MedTech Venture Prototype Fund.
In late 2024, SonoVoice was honored to bring aboard ten voice training experts who will create a library of short-form science-based, clinically-vetted videos. This video library will empower vocal athletes and those undergoing voice rehabilitation to improve vocal health, enhance voice performance, and reduce the likelihood of injury.

In August 2024, Sonovoice was awarded a prestigious NSF Phase I STTR grant ($275k) to develop our innovative voice evaluation and monitoring technology and collaborate with the University of Utah on clinical testing and validation.
In January 2024, SonoVoice was honored to be featured at the North Carolina Startup Pavilion during the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV. SonoVoice presented daily in Eureka Park, CES’s showcase for cutting-edge technologies.
In late 2023, SonoVoice was awarded a $10,000 NC IDEA MICRO Grant to validate key business assumptions and advance our voice evaluation and training platform. One of 15 companies chosen from nearly 200 applicants via a competitive process, we gained invaluable mentorship through the MICRO program, refining our business model and accelerating our commercialization efforts.
In Summer 2023, SonoVoice was one of six companies selected via competitive pitch to join the Andrews Launch Accelerator at NC State University. We received equity-free funding, mentorship, and resources to refine our vision and technology. At Demo Day, we presented our innovative vocal evaluation platform , expanding our network and laying a stronger foundation for future growth.
In Spring 2023, SonoVoice completed the NSF Regional I-Corps Program at NC State University, conducting a rapid succession of customer discovery interviews to refine our understanding of the needs of occupational voice users. That summer, SonoVoiceteam members made a podium presentation at the Voice Foundation’s Annual Symposium, strengthening our market insights and connections in voice health.
SonoVoice partnered with Duke University’s New Venture Fellows (NVF) Program across multiple semesters to gain critical insights on financial modeling, pricing, and go-to-market strategy. We collaborated with business experts in the Fuqua School of Business to refine our MVP and drive early-stage growth with actionable, business-oriented solutions.
SonoVoice originated as a Master’s thesis project in Industrial Design at NC State University, inspired by firsthand experiences with vocal health challenges. Identified a critical gap in voice care during research, laying the foundation for an innovative, science-based solution to support vocal athletes and voice rehabilitation.
